The department is mainly responsible for closely following all political Affairs activities between Sudan and the hosting countries, although  building and developing  bilateral relations.

The department has many activities including working closely and engaging with government entities and institutions, hold  political/ Ministerial consultations, analyse and report foreign affairs activities and follow closely implementations of  development strategies, also monitoring closely host countries internal affairs including its current political developments and activities  such as government leaders engagements, elections and others.
